Traffic Management Plan — Site-specific safety document detailing how road users and workers are kept safe during road disruptions.
Purpose
- Safety: Minimize risk to public and workers
- Efficiency: Manage traffic flow, reduce delays
- Compliance: Meet legal obligations under HSWA 2015
When Required
Any activity that varies normal road reserve conditions:
- Road/footpath excavation or repair
- Scaffolding or cranes on berm
- Public events (parades, marathons, festivals)
- Tree felling, heavy vehicle deliveries
Who Creates It
- Must be designed by qualified person
- Usually a TTM Planner or STMS
- Submitted to RCA via Corridor Access Request (CAR)
